S-K Dynamic

S-K Dynamic

The S-K Dynamic describes how organized potential becomes observable activity when its conditions change. S-K stands for Scalar–Kinetic. In this SVP interpretation, scalar refers to the organized or balanced potential condition, and kinetic refers to its expression through motion and other physical changes.

Something may appear quiet while holding considerable potential. A disturbance changes the relationships maintaining that condition, allowing activity to develop. The system then settles into another condition of relative balance.

Organized Potential → Disturbance → Change of Relationship → Manifest Activity → New Relative Balance

Balance need not mean complete inactivity. Opposing activities can maintain a balance until one gains predominance.

Everyday Examples

A stretched rubber band. Stretching stores energy in the band’s changed structure. Your fingers hold it in place. Releasing one end changes the constraint, and the band contracts. The release permits the motion; the stretching supplied the stored energy.

Water behind a gate. Elevated water has gravitational potential energy. Opening the gate permits flow, which can turn a wheel. The gate controls access to the potential.

A match. The match head and surrounding oxygen possess chemical potential. Striking supplies the conditions needed to begin a reaction. The resulting heat, light, and chemical changes draw upon that chemical potential.

A shaken soda bottle. Opening the cap lowers the pressure above the liquid. Dissolved gas comes out of solution, producing bubbles and sometimes foam. The changed pressure allows a new arrangement to develop.

A solar cell. Incoming sunlight supplies energy to charge carriers in a semiconductor. The cell’s organized structure separates and collects them, permitting useful current through a connected circuit. Here, energy arrives from outside; the receiving structure determines how it is converted. [Solar Photovoltaic Cell Basics]

These examples show a recurring relationship between potential, constraint, disturbance, and activity. They involve different physical mechanisms. A small trigger may release a large stored reserve, while another process requires continuing energy input.

Connection to Keely

John Worrell Keely placed great importance on disturbance of equilibrium, sympathetic relationships, and neutral centers. His descriptions connect changes of balance with aggregation, dispersion, and motion. [Terrestrial]

In accounts preserved in the Snell material, incoming sympathetic streams encounter matter and liberate latent heat. Electricity likewise develops through differentiated sympathetic flows associating with terrestrial centers. [HEAT - Snell, What Electricity Is - Keely]

The S-K Dynamic is a present-day interpretation of this recurring pattern. It is not presented as Keely’s own name for a law, nor does the pattern by itself verify his proposed mechanisms.

Scalar Potential and Maxwell

In mathematics and physics, a scalar is a quantity without an assigned direction, such as temperature. Scalar potential has a more specific meaning: electric potential, for example, describes potential energy per unit charge relative to a reference. A difference in potential can help drive electrical activity. “Scalar” does not automatically mean stillness or a hidden energy source.

Maxwell’s 1865 electromagnetic theory included electric potential and twenty component equations. Later formulations expressed the theory more compactly. Claims about Maxwell’s “missing equations” require care: the different equation counts do not by themselves establish that a physical energy source was removed. [Maxwell, A Dynamical Theory of the Electromagnetic Field, Part III]

The practical question of the S-K Dynamic is simple: What potential is present, what holds its organization, and what change allows it to become active?
