Tesla Turbine

Here is a twin to the previous patent, issued on the same day, which further elaborates the Tesla Turbine principles. The drawings show a more compact arrangement of discs. There is more of an emphasis on 'the use of fluids as motive agents'. Refinements of the principles here seem to have contributed to the development of jet engines.
Note an interesting equation here, that can be broadly applied: 'torque is directly proportionate to the square of the velocity of the fluid relatively to the runner and to the effective area of the disks and, inversely, to the distance separating them.'
Excellent references on Tesla Turbines include DVDs and a book by Jeff Hayes.
