A mind, thought, scalar or scalar potential. Desire in it's simpler sense is sympathetic outreach.

"What is the difference between the soul and psyche? I am now going to explain the difference which your earthly psychologists may dispute, but nonetheless, this is the truth. The Soul is the 'Divine Flame' - a metaphor used to describe the essence of Divine Life which is drawn into individual being at the moment of conception. LIFE FORCE takes on personal form and releases the energy of 'electrical force of activity' and the magnetic impulses of 'bonding - rejection' to embark on the intricate work of construction of the body.
"Therefore, you have, at the core of your being,

this is Divine Intelligence / Divine Love
Which is the powerful Divine Impulse to create, grow, nourish, nurture, heal, protect, fulfill every need, within a system of perfect law and order.
"This is the Reality which is your soul.
"Therefore, when you have overcome the ego impulses and invited the SOUL to hold dominion in your thoughts and feelings, you will be driven to express all of the Divine Impulses described above. You will be possessed by a desire to only promote the highest good of all living things and the universe itself. You will have become a true messenger from Divine Consciousness, expressing all Its qualities of Being.

"Until that time of soul re-unification with Divine Consciousness, the psyche occupies the deepest recesses of your human consciousness and draws its awareness from your soul. It is the hidden instinct within you which knows right from wrong." [Christ Returns - Speaks His Truth, Letter 7, page 166-167, (13)]

"Desire is the starting point of all achievement, not hope, not a wish, but a keen pulsating desire which transcends everything." [Napoleon Hill]

"In Desire we find the first step toward Dynamic Mentation. Desire precedes action of will which releases the dynamic force of the mind - the Mind-Power. Desire is the coiling up the steel-spring of Will - there is always a state of "tension" about desire - a state of "coiled-up energy" caused by "feeling," "emotion" or similar state which has been aroused by the sight of, or memory of, or thought of, some attractive object. The feeling inspired by the attractive object coils up the spring of desire, and this "coiled-up" energy supplies the "motive-power" of the will. But, remember this, some desires are acted upon, while others are rejected - neither men nor things act upon every desire. There is the other pole of the Desire Will which must be called into action"and this leads us to a consideration of the matter of choice, determination, or decision, which is so often expressed by the term - "Will, - as I said a little further back." [Chapter II - The Nature of Mind Power]

"For from the desire of the heart the mouth speaketh. From the meditations of the soul the hands, the body, the mind, find their manner of manifestation of that which motivates same in material expressions." [Cayce (683-2)]

"Each individual has its own individual problems. Not all are physical. Hence there are those that are of the sympathetic nature, or where there has been the possession by the very activity of same; but gold will destroy desire in any of them." [Cayce (606)]

"The centering conscious Mind of man's Soul-will alone thinks by projecting desire for creative expression through the brain machine. Desire in Mind is electrically expressed. Electricity is the motivative force which projects the One Light of Mind two ways to create cycles of light waves for the purpose of expressing thought cycles. Desire is the cause of all motion." Russell,The Secret of Light

"Desire is not in the brain. It is in the centering conscious self. Desire is the cause of motion." Russell, The Secret of Light, page 57

"Desire is the motivating force of all Creation." Russell, The Secret of Light, page 65

"Desire in the Light of Mind is the power quality of Mind. Desire is the soul of Mind; the will of Mind." Russell, The Secret of Light, page 113 [See Scalar]

"As servant of Mind, electricity gives moving form to the idea by performing the work necessary to produce it. The power to thus produce does not lie in electricity nor in motion. It lies in desire of Mind only. Without that desire Creation could not be. Without desire of Mind in man his power to create could not be.

"Desire of Mind is expressed through waves of light in motion." Russell, The Secret of Light, page 114

"Desire in the One Light of Mind is positive. Its expression in the two lights of opposed motion is negative. Every expression of power in Nature is negated by its opposite expression." Russell, The Secret of Light, page 115-116

"If you will but remember that Soul is DESIRE in the seed, its motivating force, you will then comprehend how the inert gas acts as a nucleus, or center around which matter in motion accumulates to make a new body. This it could not do without the motivating force of desire, for nothing is, or becomes, without desire." [Russell, Mirrors and Lens of Cosmic Cinema]

"All motion begins at a cathode point in space, which is all cathode. It cannot move out of that omnipresent position, however, without dividing its seeming energy into four radar-acting pairs in the wave, which is beginning to construct, nor can it do so without measuring out its own desire-energy into countless billions of other cathodes throughout all omnipresence." [Atomic Suicide, page 285]

"Desire is the motivating force of all Creation." Russell, The Secret of Light, page 65

"DESIRE is that impulse which makes for the activity of the mental body, whether the impulse is from that desire or the desire is produced by the environs that affect a physical organism - or that which arouses or attunes the spiritual or soul body to an activity." Cayce (276-7)

"That which is carnal and that which is mental and that which is spiritual may be found - in DESIRE. For, it builds - and is that which is the basis of evolution, and of life, and of truth. It also takes hold on Hell and paves the way for many that finds themselves oft therein." Cayce (262-60)

"From what may anyone be saved? Only from themselves! That is, their individual hell; they dig it with their own desires!" Cayce (262-40)

"Desire, firmly held in mind with emotional knowingness that the possibility of its actuation is feasible, can and will manifest." Becoming
